What is the Best Way to Design Overhead Transparencies?

I have a speech class and I need a way to design overhead transparencies so that they will look professional.

What is the Best Way to Design Overhead Transparencies?
1.Buy the plastic sheets and use your computer to print out your speech point


2. Go to Kinko's and take your printed speech points and print them on transparencies.


3. With a fine felt tip permanent marker write it all out ahead of time very neatly and legibly.
Reply:You should probably try to find a way that you can design the transparencies on a computer; however, you will need to purchase special transparencies that can be used in a printer. You can purchase these is any office supply store.





Make sure that you use a bold font or write very dark- it will be easier to read. Also, do not try to put too much information on one slide. Try to keep a lot of "white space" on the transparency. White space will make the reader less frustrated while he or she is trying to read the transparency. Also, write large so everyone in the back can read, too :)
Reply:You could make a design on a computer program (Word, Power Point, etc...) and then print it out on paper. Then you can actually copy the design onto the transperency by putting the transperacy paper in a copier machine and copying the design. It works great (But I have only tried it in a big company kind of copier machine) Don't know if it would work on a home copier machine. Get the transpericies from the store that are backed with paper that peels off.
Reply:You can design them on Microsoft works, or word, then print them off using your printer. That's what I do.
Reply:Keep them simple, not too many words or graphics to a page. What I like to do is design them on the computer and then print them off, then display them against the whiteboard rather than a screen, so if I have anything to add I can just write it on the board without messing up my transparency.
