What should i study in high school, to study graphic design in university?
*High School

Math - make physics your friend

English

History, Art History, Film History

Drafting

Programing

ART ART ART

*Junior college, community college

Get all your university transferable general education units taken care of. Then do extra curricular units in photography, digital animation, 3D modeling (any class that will introduce you to today's design software like Autodesk Maya and such) iconography, branding, printmaking, publishing, painting, sculpting, etc.

*Transfer to a University or Art Academy

Major, BA Graphic Design (Focus. Mantra: Deadlines are not your enemy.) Art Directors have to know all aspects of the design process. They are like the 'Jack of All Trades' in their position. They need to be able to communicate between programers, designers, clients, the project managers, copy editors...everyone!

Minor in Business. Why? Again, you need to understand all aspects of the deal when you are an Art Director. The good ones who make phat incomes have a business sense.

*Then get your MFA. You need it to even be considered so don't stop after your BA. You can do it!!

Good luck!
Reply:Ya technical drawing is same. Programming for html but you can learn html on your own time. Practice on MySpace lol.

Do photography! It's a great introduction to negative space, composition and deadlines ...all essential graphic design areas. Report It
