What is the best, safest way to brighten white cotton with a colored design that has yellowed in time?

We have a white bedspread with light blue design that has lost its nice bright white look and has taken on a yellowish

dull tinge. We have taken it to the cleaners but they were unable to remove it. I do not know if it was drycleaned or machine washed.

To whiten clothes that have yellowed, bleach will only make things worse. Find some old fashioned laundry "bluing." It will make whites bright again but follow the instructions carefully or you'll end up with blue tinted clothes.
Reply:I like to use oxyclean. I have made it in to a kina of paste and rubbed it on or just double the amount normally used. I swear by the stuff. Keeps white white and does not effect colors. -- Wow I sound like the comercial;
Reply:The best %26amp; the safest cleaner for your bedspread is WOOLITE, IT CLEANS CLOTHES, COATS, %26amp; BEDSPREADS THAT NEED TO BE TREATED WITH A GENTLE HAND !!
Reply:try the new clorox for colors bleach or just simply wash it in bleach and detergent. i have washed whites with colors in them with bleach and it really does'nt make much diffrence in the color.
