How can I make a simple design on brige?

I have a term paper to write on a simple design of a brige. All the stages involve in the design process should be included in the design as well as the necessary calculations, the preacuations and others relevants informations . Thanks

How can I make a simple design on brige?
You need to start with a brief - a bridge is a solution to a problem, and you need a problem to get a solution.

The brief should include the site (which would also describe the span of the bridge, the nature of the obstacle to be spanned [ie: a river or railway, etc.], soil conditions, etc.), the intended use of the bridge (and thus what the loads on it will be, whether motorised traffic, rail, pedestrian, etc.) and budget, and any other design criterias required (such as aesthetics, surrounding buildings, etc.).

From there you can design the structure based on how far you need it to span, whether or not you can have mid-span supports (and how many, at what spacing), the structure of those mid-span supports, the materials/construction of the bridge (ie: steel or concrete), the method of spanning (ie: suspension, post %26amp; beam, pivot, etc.), live loads to accommodate (traffic, pedestrian, etc.), dead loads to accommodate (road construction, rail, etc.), wind/watercourse resistance, and so on.
Reply:this should help get you started........http://www.pghbridges.com/basics.htm
Reply:I would be a bit cautious of using a bridge designed by someone who can't even spell the word.
Reply:Use the simple pre-Roman style of bridge. A stone slab laid over some large stones at the ends. When used if it stays up then it is adequate, if it breaks then it requires a heavier slab.

That is it at its simplest
