good afternoon everybody I have just discovered how expensive it is to buy a house I realise it is expensive I want to know how I can design and build my house my self with out the cost phinominal thanks enjoy this lovely sunshine.

draw some pictures of what you want then take them to an architect , once he has drawn up proper plans , go to your local estate agent and ask them to find appropriate plots of land .


Once you have the plan and your preferred land approach your local planning office for permission to build , if they agree contact a number of builders for estimates to build the house .

Reply:you still have to hire someone to draw up plans, which could cost up to $1000 if you want to design them yourself as appose to just buying alreayd made ones, and then you have to hire people to build it, cause you will not be able to build it yourself, clearly, and it doesn't come out to be very much cheaper to build.
Reply:well that is a toughy. i'm not sure i understand what you mean by built it your self? are you gonna actually built the walls and stair and stuff? well good luck to you there if you are. if you just want to design a house and have it built for you, their are many contractors who will build what ever you want were ever you want. if you don't know how to put up dry wall foundation and plumbing and electric, i wouldn't try to do it yourself. if you do you will save big bucks. other wise it will be a longgg expensive journey.
